Ziv's Apricots
Stone fruit, managed seriously. Every apricot is a ticket.
Welcome. My name is Ziv, and I grow apricots. Not casually. Not as a hobby. I grow them the way a senior engineering manager ships a release: with a backlog, a board, and zero tolerance for an untracked blocker.
Some farmers keep notes in a shed. I keep mine in
YouTrack. Every single apricot on my eleven trees has its
own issue, its own assignee (me), and its own lifecycle:
Open
β Ripening β In Review β Eaten.
This is not a joke. Well β it is a little bit a joke. But the
orchard yield is up 34% year over year, so who's laughing now.
π The Fruit
Velvet skin, honeyed flesh, a pit you can hear when you bite around it. The apricot is the most underrated stone fruit and I will defend this position in any standup.
π― The Process
Agile orcharding. Two-week sprints aligned to the ripening window. Daily standups (it's just me, talking to a tree). Every harvest is a retrospective.
"You cannot manage what you do not measure. I measured a peach once. It was fine. I have measured every apricot since 2019."

workflow design, fruit triage, and why I closed an apricot as
Won't Fix. Or read about me if you
want to understand the man behind the board.
